Consistency
All applications must maintain a high level of consistency across their user experience, behavior, workflows, and design patterns. Users must be able to navigate and operate different systems within DIT with predictable interactions and without encountering unexpected or contradictory behaviors.
Consistency must be preserved when:
- adding new features,
- modifying existing functionality,
- improving system behavior, or
- fixing defects.
If a situation arises where an intentional deviation from established behavior or design is required, the change must be:
- clearly justified,
- documented with the rationale and expected impact, and
- explicitly approved by the Head of Digital Development.
Any inconsistency introduced without prior approval is considered unacceptable and will be treated as a defect that must be corrected.
